In Detail Section “C” the horizontal joint of the backup block is not in line with the top of stone. When this condition exists hooks are centered at the joints. At the same time of setting, straps are placed over the hooks and tied back to the block wall. Hooks in this position may be used for both lifting and anchoring.
With smaller base stones, two anchor slots are cast in the top of each stone and the stones are tied to the wall with strap anchors as detailed in the pilaster stone sections “E” and “F.” Stone lengths vary from 3′-0″ to 5′-0″.
